Structures
In a membership organisation, users can be encouraged to
become members and acquire voting rights.
- Users, even if they are not members, can be invited to
the AGM.
- Users can be put forward as members of the governing
body, whether by election or appointment.
- Users can be appointed to sub-committees and working
parties in greater numbers.
- When planning to elect or appoint users to decision-making
bodies, it is necessary to make sure enough people are elected
or appointed to support each other. A single user representative
is likely to be overwhelmed.
- A 'users' body', or network, can help support users in
their participation in the organisation, as well as in their
lives.
